Product details

The Irix 150 mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 is a medium-sized macro prime lens with a maximum magnification of 1:1 and a minimum focusing distance of approximately 2.8 cm, allowing for close-up photography of objects. The maximum aperture of f/2.8 enables shooting in various lighting conditions and provides better control over depth of field to isolate subjects. The optical design, consisting of twelve lenses in nine groups, features a Neutrino coating that helps minimize stray light and ghosting, resulting in higher contrast and better color accuracy.

This macro lens impresses with low field curvature, uniform sharpness across the entire image field, and minimal distortion. It is particularly suited for capturing small objects as accurately as possible at a scale of 1:1. It allows you to get very close to a subject without causing the image to blur, enabling you to achieve stunning close-ups with high detail.

This lens can only be focused manually. Although manual focusing may take longer and be more challenging than working with autofocus, it offers several advantages: it allows you to focus precisely on the point you desire, resulting in images that match your vision. In situations where autofocus would struggle—such as in low light, on smooth surfaces with little texture, or in foggy weather—you will prefer to focus manually.
