Hello Reto. The 85 watts power refers to a resistor of 6 ohms. The 50 watts probably refers to 8 ohms or it is a mistake. In any case, the unit has enough power to drive all normal speakers without any problems. I am surprised myself at the ease with which it drives my Boston floorstanding speakers. A very good unit.
