The most popular wood-based panels in furniture construction are the so-called MDF panels. MDF stands for medium-density fibreboard, i.e. it is a very fine-pored and homogeneous furniture board whose edges can be screwed and nailed, unlike chipboard or coarse chipboard. However, MDF boards tend to bulge or split at the board edges if the edges are not pre-drilled. We have developed SPAX-M to prevent precisely this: The combination of the CUT tip, which virtually drills the screw hole itself, the razor-sharp wave profile and the small 75° milling head for flush countersinking of the screw ensures that you can screw your MDF components together without any problems. However, we recommend maintaining an edge distance of at least 25 mm from the edge of the board, even with the SPAX-M. For you, this means: secure edge screwing, no splitting of the board edges.
