As the top Swiss e-commerce platform, with a crew of over 4’000 across Switzerland, Germany, and Serbia, Galaxus is poised to move into new markets. Our driving force is our determination to keep challenging the status quo. That’s why we’re on the lookout for characters who’re passionate about making genuine improvements. We’ll give you the freedom and trust to make an impact, to grow with us and to be yourself. Act galactic. Be you.

Galaxus Germany is building one of the largest and most modern logistics centres in Europe in Neuenburg am Rhein. From here, we'll deliver to our customers in Germany and beyond. As Team Leader Yard Management, you'll play a key leadership role where inbound, outbound and our transport partners meet. You'll make sure that traffic on our site runs safely, efficiently and reliably, from the moment a truck arrives until it leaves on time.

In this role, you'll help build, stabilise and develop our yard management. Together with your team, and working closely with Inbound, Outbound, Security and external carriers, you'll help shape the future of logistics and keep goods flowing smoothly.

Your responsibilities

  • Monitoring and managing daily yard operations to ensure all truck movements on site are safe, orderly and on schedule
  • Planning the use of the yard, parking bays and dock doors for both inbound and outbound traffic, coordinating with neighbouring departments and responding quickly to delays, bottlenecks and last-minute changes
  • Ensuring drivers receive correct and complete shipping documents and that departures are handled properly
  • Leading a team of yard employees, both day to day and as their direct manager, including shift and staff planning
  • Continuously developing the team and hiring new team members
  • Conducting employee, health and annual review meetings independently
  • Ensuring the team follows occupational safety, security and yard rules (e.g. undocking and securing procedures) and enforcing them consistently
  • Helping build and improve yard processes, contributing to projects, and applying logistics expertise to drive continuous improvement

Your skills

  • Solid logistics expertise, gained through several years of experience or specific training, ideally in yard, dock or transport management
  • Several years of experience leading logistics teams
  • Good communication skills in English (Level B2). If you're not at that level yet, we support you achieving the needed competencies with language classes.
  • Enjoyment of planning schedules, time and capacity, staying on top of things even when it gets hectic
  • Knowledge of shipping and freight documents (e.g. CMR, delivery notes) is a plus
  • Analytical thinking with an eye for how things connect
  • Very good MS Office skills and experience with warehouse management or yard management systems
  • Ability to analyse statistics and turn the results into actions
  • Resilience, humour, enthusiasm and a hands-on attitude
  • Clear and assertive communication, including with external drivers and carriers
  • Mobility and willingness to work in a two-shift system (Mon–Fri 05:00–23:00 / Sat 05:00–18:00)
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance productivity and effectiveness
  • Demonstrating the courage to take risks and act on convictions under uncertainty
