Now available: Samsung Galaxy A37 and A57
Samsung updates its mid-range smartphones. The Galaxy A37 and A57 offer large displays and long update cycles, but differ in terms of performance and features.
With the Galaxy A37 5G and the Galaxy A57 5G, Samsung is launching two mid-range devices on the market. If you are looking for a smartphone for everyday use that reliably handles standard technical tasks and offers long-term software support, it is worth taking a closer look at both models.
Power levels and RAM configurations
The two models differ in terms of their processor performance and the available memory combinations. The Galaxy A37 5G uses the Exynos 1480 chipset with a clock speed of up to 2.75 gigahertz. The RAM is directly linked to the internal memory. If you opt for 128 gigabytes, you get six gigabytes of RAM. The 256 gigabyte version comes with eight gigabytes of RAM.
The Galaxy A57 5G uses the more powerful Exynos 1680, which reaches up to 2.9 gigahertz. The smaller variants remain the same in terms of RAM. Both 128 and 256 gigabytes are combined with eight gigabytes of RAM. Only the largest version with 512 gigabytes stands out and offers twelve gigabytes of RAM.
Display technology and housing data
Both smartphones have a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixels (FHD+) and a refresh rate of 120 hertz. The pixel density of the A37 is 385 ppi, while the A57 is slightly lower at 382 ppi.
There are also no differences in terms of brightness: both panels achieve up to 1900 nits at peak brightness and 1200 nits in high-brightness mode (HBM).
Despite the identical display diagonal, the A57 is the handier device. With a thickness of 6.9 millimetres and a weight of 179 grammes, it is thinner and noticeably lighter than the A37, which weighs in at 196 grammes with a thickness of 7.4 millimetres.
Camera systems and connectivity
The main camera of both smartphones has a resolution of 50 megapixels (f/1.8) and features optical image stabilisation (OIS). There are differences in the ultra-wide angle: the A37 5G uses an 8-megapixel sensor, while the A57 5G has a 12-megapixel sensor. The front cameras are identical on both models with twelve megapixels.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy A57 5G supports the Wi-Fi 6E standard, while the A37 5G is limited to Wi-Fi 6. Both models have a 5000 mAh battery and support fast charging up to a maximum of 45 watts. A charger is not included in the scope of delivery.
Colours and availability
The Galaxy A37 5G is available in Awesome Graygreen, Awesome Charcoal, Awesome Lavender and Awesome White. The colours Awesome Navy, Awesome Gray, Awesome Icyblue and Awesome Lilac are available for the Galaxy A57 5G. Samsung guarantees operating system and security updates for both models for six years.
