Warning! This beauty tip is not for the faint of heart

I’ve recently started contouring my face with self-tanning lotion. It lasts longer than make-up and looks more natural. This is how it’s done.

All you need is a self-tanner you trust (this is no time for experiments!), an application glove, a clean, tightly tied buffing brush and a lot of courage.

How it works

Cleanse your face and remove dead skin with a scrub. Dry your face. Apply a walnut-sized amount of tanning foam to the glove and fold the glove so that the foam collapses.

Remember, it’s better to start off with a tiny amount of product and slowly build up your tan. There’s no turning back, after all. Many products also continue to work after they’ve been washed off. That’s why it’s important to choose a self-tanning lotion you’re familiar with and that works well on your skin.

Caution with dry skin: dry skin literally absorbs self-tanning lotion. This can lead to stains or a result that’s darker than you were aiming for. A light day care product will act as a buffer. But let your skin fully absorb it first before applying self-tanner.

Sometimes the tiniest details can make or break the way our hair looks or our make-up pops. In my Blazing Beauty Tips series, I share useful techniques and products with you.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
