What is quickly forgotten when hiking - and really counts when you reach the top
Backpack packed. Water bottle filled. Poles ready. What is often missing: sunscreen. Sun protection is more crucial when hiking than many people think - and there's a simple physical reason for that.

Why height makes the difference
According to the Swiss Cancer League, UV intensity increases by around 10 percent per 1000 meters of altitude. In addition, there are reflective surfaces such as water, rocks or snow, which further amplify the radiation. And because we are often outside for hours when hiking or other high-altitude activities, the sun exposure is quickly underestimated.
In short: sun protection does not only belong in the swimming pool. It also belongs in the hiking backpack.

What makes good sports sun protection
Not every sunscreen is suitable for intensive outdoor activities. What matters: high UVA, UVB, IR & HEV protection, good water and sweat resistance, fast absorption and a texture that feels comfortable even after an intense ascent. For skin that is prone to sun allergies, it also counts: fragrance-free and skin-friendly tested.

Whether it's a summit hike, trail run or mountain biking: good sun protection should be able to keep up. Daylong™ Sport Extreme Protect does just that.
