Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 series officially launches in Europe

Xiaomi is launching five different variants of the Redmi Note mid-range smartphone. An overview.
After Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 13 series in China back in September, the five entry-level to mid-range smartphones are now also available in Europe. The Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+ cover a price range from 200 to 500 euros/francs.
The most important differences
Xiaomi offers the Redmi Note 13 and Note 13 Pro with either 4G or 5G. The Note 13 Pro+ always has the faster mobile phone standard.
Main cameras with different resolutions
The three Pro models each have a main camera with a 200-megapixel sensor. This should enable lossless 2x and 4x zoom. Xiaomi equips the basic models with a 108-megapixel camera. Its sensor should offer triple zoom. All Redmi Note 13 models also have an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 16-megapixel front camera.
Same size displays
All Redmi Note 13 have 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with a maximum refresh rate of 120 hertz. There are differences in resolution, maximum brightness and the protective glass used.
- Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Pro+ 5G: 2712 × 1220 pixels, 1800 nits, Gorilla Glass Victus
- Redmi Note 13 Pro: 2400 × 1080 pixels, 1300 nits, Gorilla Glass 5
- Redmi Note 13 5G: 2400 × 1080 pixels, 1000 nits, Gorilla Glass 5
- Redmi Note 13: 2400 × 1080 pixels, 1800 nits, Gorilla Glass 3
Only the Pro+ model of the Redmi Note 13 series is IP68 waterproof. The other models are certified to IP54 - i.e. protected against dust and splash water.
Five different processors
Xiaomi uses five different processors in the five Redmi Note 13 models:
- Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G: Mediatek Dimensity 7200
- Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2
- Redmi Note 13 Pro: Mediatek Helio G99 Ultra
- Redmi Note 13 5G: Mediatek Dimensity 6080
- Redmi Note 13: Qualcomm Snapdragon 685
The Snapdragon 685 in the cheapest model is already over three years old and only partially up to date. The Dimensity 6080 and the Helios G99 Ultra are somewhat more modern. In contrast, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and Dimensity 7200, which are just under a year old, still meet a good mid-range standard.
Battery, memory, software and 3.5 mm
Only the Redmi Note 13 5G with its 5100 mAh battery is an outlier. The other models each have 5000 mAh, but these are charged at different speeds. Xiaomi supplies the Note 13 Pro+ 5G with a 120-watt power supply unit, which should fully charge the smartphone in 19 minutes. With the two Pro models, this takes around 45 minutes with their 67-watt power supply units. There is no information on the charging time for the two basic models with their 33-watt power supply units.
All Redmi Note 13 models are available with 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of storage space. Xiaomi also offers the Note 13 Pro+ 5G with 12 and 512 gigabytes. For the Note 13, the manufacturer is expanding the selection downwards with 6 and 128 as well as 8 and 128 gigabytes.
Xiaomi installs Android 13 and the MIUI 14 user interface on all Redmi Note 13s ex works.
The fingerprint sensor is located under the display on all Redmi Note 13s. With the exception of the Pro+, they also all have a 3.5 mm connection for headphones.

As a primary school pupil, I used to sit in a friend's living room with many of my classmates to play the Super NES. Now I get my hands on the latest technology and test it for you. In recent years at Curved, Computer Bild and Netzwelt, now at Digitec and Galaxus.
