The Splitty9 Active from Aqua Computer accommodates up to 9 PWM fans. Unlike passive splitters, the Splitty9 has three special features: voltage supply, PWM signal amplification, and an adjustable switch threshold. The voltage supply powers the splitter via a SATA connector, allowing the fans to operate independently of the connected fan output and receive the maximum power from the SATA connector. The PWM signal amplification prevents the PWM fans from interfering with the PWM signal of the fan output, which could otherwise lead to them becoming unmanageable. The adjustable switch threshold enables the shutdown of PWM fans that typically cannot be turned off. To do this, the knob on the splitter is adjusted accordingly. If the incoming PWM signal falls below the threshold, the power supply to the fans is turned off.
