Canon

The RF 85mm F1.2L USM offers outstanding optical performance thanks to its exceptional lens design and the use of groundbreaking Canon lens technologies, making it the ultimate next-generation portrait lens. It has the ideal short telephoto focal length for flattering portraits and delivers atmospheric and detailed results with a pleasing perspective and virtually no distortion. With its high aperture of f/1.2, the lens provides excellent low-light capabilities, exceptional sharpness, and beautiful bokeh without compromising image quality.

The lens is constructed with BR optics (Blue Spectrum Refractive) to prevent chromatic aberrations, and an aspherical lens element eliminates spherical aberrations that could arise from the extreme aperture. The quality of the lens construction elevates the L-series to a whole new level. Weather sealing prevents dust and moisture from entering, and the fluorine coating on the front and rear lenses protects against dirt and scratches. The RF mount of the RF 85mm F1.2L USM enables extremely fast focusing, and the lens control ring can be customized for specific functions.

Key specifications

Lens type

Bayonet lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.
