UV Block Filter
A UV filter only allows the desired light to pass through. Enhanced UV radiation, which can cause blue tints especially during midday, is blocked by the UV filter. A DÖRR UV filter is completely color neutral and causes no light loss. Therefore, it can remain on your lens at all times. A DÖRR DHG UV filter protects your valuable lens front element from dust, dirt, moisture, and mechanical stress such as scratches.

Why do you need a DHG filter for your digital camera?
Digital cameras have a CCD or CMOS image sensor that converts light into digital impulses. The sensor is very sensitive and is protected by a filter glass. This glass sits directly in front of the chip and has a highly reflective surface. Some of the incoming light is therefore reflected back by the filter glass. This light must then exit the lens in a straight line, which is ensured by the multi-coating of the lens.
When using a filter on the lens, not only must the front side of the filter be of very high quality, but also the back side. Otherwise, there is a risk of loss of contrast and brilliance, as well as blurriness. This is not necessary for filters used with analog cameras. Therefore, you should always use a DÖRR Digital High Grade filter on your digital camera.

DÖRR DHG filters have the following features:

  • Very high-quality optical glass.
  • Slim filter frame - prevents vignetting in wide-angle shots.
  • Filter frame made of black satin-finished metal - prevents reflections.
  • Inner glass edges are blackened - prevents reflections.
  • Front and back sides are DHG multi-coated - allows over 99.5% of light to pass through!
  • Front thread.
  • Completely color neutral.
  • Made in Japan.
