The Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming is equipped with AMD's X470 chipset and optimized for operation with the Ryzen 2000 series Pinnacle Ridge CPUs. This high-end chipset supports up to 64 GB of RAM with easily achievable clock rates. Additionally, the X470 chipset is compatible with all the new features of the second-generation Ryzen processors and benefits from further optimizations, such as the new overclocking feature XFR2. The AM4 motherboard provides two M.2 slots with PCIe connectivity. M.2 SSDs connected via four PCI Express 3.0 lanes support data transfer rates of up to 32 Gbit/s when used with the advanced NVM Express (NVMe) protocol, making them up to eight times faster than SATA 6G drives. One slot can also operate in SATA mode. On the I/O panel of the Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming, there is a USB 3.1 port with a Type-C connector. The innovative USB Type-C port is particularly slim and can be plugged in on either side. USB 3.1 or USB 3.1 Gen 2 achieves maximum speeds of 10 Gbit/s per port, and USB ports with this standard support fast charging for smartphones and tablets. A special feature is the integrated RGB Fusion lighting, which allows customizable RGB lighting effects across multiple zones and can be controlled via software. For managing and automatically synchronizing additional RGB lighting, the Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming has two headers each for addressable and static RGB elements. Furthermore, the board includes two dedicated USB 3.0 ports with stable 5V power supply for audio DACs.
