With its battery-powered satellite speakers, JBL's "Bar 1300" delivers plenty of surround sound and powerful bass thanks to its large subwoofer. The 11.1.4 system also scores highly in terms of features.

Our soundbar test shows that expensive does not mean good. Some high-priced models do not sound convincing or have weaknesses in handling. It's worth comparing: good soundbars can be found for less than 300 euros. New in our database in July 2023: 15 soundbars with prices between 65 and 1,500 euros.

JBL simply knows what's important: great sound and easy operation. With its uncomplicated automatic calibration, the 3D system adapts to the spatial conditions and then scores with good spatial imaging and rich bass. However, you have to like the tinkering with the detachable satellites. The idea is nevertheless clever: more basic width for stereo and dedicated rear speakers for multi-channel.
