When a tattooed arm is emblazoned on the packaging next to an amplifier-style speaker, you know it's Marshall. This model is the most expensive mini speaker in the test field, but justifies the price with strong features and excellent sound. The integrated battery lasts up to 17 hours, and as one of the few ultra-portable speakers, the Willen Il even has a microphone for phone calls...

Natural sounding bass, clearly audible details and balanced, lively sound - this is what the perfect speaker should sound like. However, good sound quality is not everything: Stiftung Warentest also expects a test-winning speaker to be easy to use, have a long-lasting battery and consume little power...

The Willen II from Marshall is pleasantly compact, lightweight and looks great. The controls are quick and easy to use with its golden joystick. Given its size, there is little to complain about in terms of battery life. But there are complaints about the sound: it is muffled and weak. The app is functional and offers few, but good functions.
