No, a good mouse and keyboard set does not have to be expensive. The price-performance winner with a ribbon from Asus is already available for around 10 euros. Only the Perixx set is better, but it is mainly interesting for ten-finger professionals. If you prefer to travel without a cable, the sets from Microsoft and Lenovo are best...

In the price category over 50 euros, the Logitech Wireless Performance Combo MX 800 (115 euros) was unbeatable...
The successful design of the mouse and keyboard is the most striking feature here, along with the pleasant keystroke. The workmanship is just as excellent as the equipment with some special keys. Unfortunately, the set can only be connected wirelessly to one device, as no dongle is included. Nevertheless, a good combination, although the ergonomics of the mouse may be unfortunate for large hands.
