The legendary RB2011 product line has been providing affordable, flexible, and robust connectivity for over a decade. It was even our very first router with SFP. Finally, it's time for an upgrade. But don't worry: we've retained and improved all the key elements and features of the beloved RB2011. Even the red color scheme and attractive price!

There are three main reasons to choose the L009: better performance, more features, and some interesting quality-of-life improvements. Let's start with the enhancements in performance and capability.

The L009 is equipped with a powerful dual-core ARM CPU. It offers significant improvements in routing and filtering, complex firewall rules, IPsec hardware encryption, and various advanced RouterOS features. The ARM CPU architecture provides substantial advantages over older MIPS-based devices, such as utilizing all current Linux kernel features or implementing your own container projects. The combination of a modern ARM CPU and a full-sized USB port is perfect for running your own container projects. For example, you could run a Pi-hole ad blocker on this router or use the USB port to connect an LTE modem of your choice. The possibilities are endless.

The L009 is up to four times faster than the RB2011 in most cases and configurations, from simple fast-path routing to complex bridge filtering.

All ports are now Gigabit Ethernet ports. The first port features a PoE input that you can use instead of the DC jack to power the device. The last port has a PoE output for powering other devices. Another useful addition is an SFP cage that supports both Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit connectivity.
