The large image sensor delivers photos with a resolution of 20 megapixels. Even at high ISO values, the quality remains at a high level. The FZ1000 features a fast hybrid contrast autofocus with 49 focus points.
The 16x Leica DC Vario-Elmarit zoom lens is fixed and offers a focal length range of 25 to 400 millimeters. The zoom lens has a motor drive, the speed of which can be adjusted in five levels. The aperture starts at f/2.8 in the wide-angle range and decreases to f/4.0 at maximum telephoto settings. A five-axis image stabilizer assists the photographer with longer shutter speeds or large focal lengths.
4K Video Recording
The Lumix DMC-FZ1000 is the first digital compact camera to allow the recording of 4K videos (QFHD 4K: 3,840 x 2,160, up to 25 frames per second in MP4 format). An additional benefit for photographers is the ability to extract still images in 8-megapixel resolution from the crucial moment of a motion sequence with precise timing. Additionally, videos can be recorded in Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 50p in AVCHD Progressive format (MPEG-4 H.264) or MP4 format at 50p. Creative video mode, high-speed videos in Full HD at 100 fps, interval shooting, and stop-motion animation provide a variety of options for video creation.
