A little-known fact is that the OM series has its developmental roots and legacy in ultra-lightweight tonearm designs. Pre-assembled and adjusted at the Pro-Ject factory, it is the perfect partner for your A1. The damping ring on the inside increases weight and reduces resonances. In the final step, the platter is rotated and precisely balanced to maintain its fine edges and minimize wow and flutter deviations.

The headshell is made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer, which is stable and rigid while keeping the weight super low. This composite material leads to excellent internal damping of resonances. The chassis provides just enough space to precisely accommodate the entire internal structure of the A1, thereby avoiding cavities. As a result, the high mass of the chassis minimizes unwanted resonances to a minimum.
