The device is a pure WLAN router and not a modem. It has Ethernet ports, including a WAN port to which you can connect your fibre connection via a separate modem or a fibre converter, but it does not have an integrated modem for direct connection to fibre connections. So you will need a separate fibre modem or media converter to connect it to a fibre connection.

The ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 does not have a SIM card slot, but it still supports 4G LTE and 5G mobile tethering through a different method. Instead of using a SIM card slot, it utilizes a USB port to connect a 4G LTE or 5G USB modem, allowing you to use mobile internet as a backup or primary connection for your network.
