I can speak for myself on this one. We ordered the product on 08.09.21 and only received it on 25.11., although it was continuously said "in approx. 4-5 days" blah blah blah.... I would also rather have a concrete statement à la the previous speaker than make hypocritical statements so that the product is ordered (and paid for, of course) anyway.

The printer does not have a duplex scan. You should use the better successor for this. But you can scan multiple pages. Depending on how the pages are inserted, they can be fed in at an angle. Again, if scanning is important to you, go for the successor. It's a bit more expensive. That would be the 4302fdn
Hello HARO
As far as I know, the HP printers are well supported. iPhone, iPad and 2 iMacs work fine with this printer. At best you have to go to the HP website to adjust the colour calibration.
calibration. In the beginning I had a blue cast on the pictures.

Hello Anonymous
Your question shows: Neither of us are "printer experts".
I wouldn't do it myself, but take the printer to the service centre or for repair.
repair. With all other actions you can possibly cause damage or increase the damage.
I also had the 277dw which no longer printed the colour evenly and was also getting on in years, I was simply looking for a successor model, I see no added value, which I have noticed so far, toner is more expensive, menu operation reacts faster.
Hi, I've had this printer for 18 months and only print occasionally (about once or twice a week) Toners are still the first ones. Previously I always had inkjet printers but they dried up several times. That's why I've now switched to laser printers. I can only recommend this printer and would buy it again.
Yes, the HP Color LaserJet Pro M283fdw has a duplex scanning function that allows documents to be scanned automatically on both sides. This is done via the printer's automatic document feeder (ADF), which makes the process fast and efficient.
Yes, you need to scan the document and then use OCR software (e.g. Readiris Pro) to recognise the text! There are also other free OCR programs available on the Internet.
I can confirm that this printer comes with small colour cartridges (about half the size of the 207A) and a 207A black cartridge.
This information appears on the packaging.
Photo available if required.
The CH model comes with a power cable with a corresponding CH plug. The standard model comes with a German connection cable. Either Digitec includes an adapter for this, or replaces the included cable with one with a CH plug. In my case, the latter was the case...

Hello,
Often the problem is not with the printer itself, but with other factors:
1. **Printing via USB**: It is better to print via LAN (cable). only if there is no other way should you print via WLAN/WIFI, as a poor WLAN connection can also be a source of error.
2 **PDF application**: Always test first with the original Acrobat Reader and for comparison with Sumatra PDF.
3 **Driver problem**: If it still does not work, it is probably due to the Plug&Play driver of the operating system. Under Windows, the HP UPD driver is recommended. Integration should take place via TCP/IP (not IPP or WSD). Ideally, the IP address of the printer should be reserved (fixed) beforehand in the DHCP server of the router/firewall.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Aedu

Hello everyone,
I have now examined my printer more closely and found that it is continuously printing blue streaks on the paper, regardless of whether I am printing in greyscale or colour. After opening the back of the printer, I have discovered a sponge-like drum which I assume is soaking up excess colour. It is quite dirty and now I have the following questions:
- What exactly is it? Is it the image drum or something else in the printer?
- Could this actually be the cause of my problem?
- Is it possible to remove it and what is the best way to clean it?
- If a new one is needed, where can I find a suitable one?
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Yes, the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw should also work with the latest macOS, such as Ventura 13.6.1. HP is continuously updating the drivers and software for their products. For this particular printer, the HP Easy Start Printer Setup software was last updated on 16 February 2024, which indicates that HP is providing drivers for newer operating system versions. You could use this software to set up the printer and install the driver on a Mac. For the latest drivers and installation instructions, please visit the HP support page
