The Powerplay also works without problems through thicker mousepads, I have mine under an LTT deskpad and it works without problems, others have also embedded it in the table top... see youtube videos on the topic

I was able to do some research and unfortunately we no longer offer the Powerplay 1, unfortunately it is not known when or if we will be able to offer it again. None of our suppliers have a corresponding purchase offer any more. We currently offer the Gen 2, unfortunately I don't see anything about a Gen 3, so unfortunately there is no other option but to find a solution for the connections with the Gen 2 or to wait for an uncertainly long time for a Gen 3.

I had the same problem and ordered this one back then: Logitech G G440. Have a look at it, it might be the right one for you too...
The mouse will charge up to 95% and once you reach 80% it will charge up to 95 again.
I've had it a few months longer and everything is fine...so I think warranty case.

2-3mm - a CR2032 is thicker (it's lying around on the table here) - if your RGB mat is not too thick, I don't see a problem.
