A question as a crypto newbie: What actually happens to my coins if the device is defective at some point? I mean, no technical device lasts forever.

With the 12-word recovery seed, the wallet can be saved even if the Trezor is defective. As far as I know, this also works with external wallet providers. The Trezor is only used as an authentication device. A password generator for access, so to speak.

I have just received my Trezor One Hardware Wallet. My question is about security. How does Digitec ensure that the Trezor One is not or has not been tampered with? The seal was undamaged when I received it, but I have to be very careful. Do you receive the wallets directly from the manufacturer or are there intermediaries involved? Are all wallets new products or do you also sell used hardware wallets?

Hello Kaisa888, in principle I would have to tell you that everything can be manipulated. The question in this case is how relevant it is through how many hands the packaging passed. The fact is the seal should be intact. Apart from that, from the moment it is personalised and set up, it is almost impossible for a third party to break the thing. If you're worried, the only other software I can recommend is military grade encryption. 😉

If I remember correctly, I had to update the firmware before setting it up, which I did. After I was practically finished with the installation, i.e. after I had received the seed, the message came up that I had to update the firmware. I did this again. After that, everything seemed to be ready. The user account I had just created was still there, just as it had been set up. But now I wonder if I still have the same seed after the firmware update. Could I have the seed displayed for checking purposes?

Greetings Dom, once set up, seeds remain valid and no, there is no way to display them. The security concept is designed in such a way that, apart from your own seed list, no copies can be present, so it cannot be hacked.

Is there also a Trezor that is Bluetooth compatible on Android? The Ledger Nano X is not compatible with Android, only for Windows+Mac phones! So that's what it says anyway! Or does anyone know of 1 hardware wallet that works with Android Bluetooth? Thanks

Anyway, I was able to install the Ledger app on Android and connect the Ledger X. I don't use the Bluetooth connection actively, so I don't know how reliable it is. I don't actively use the Bluetooth connection, so I don't know how reliable it is. However, I do know that it works.
