No, the packaging only contains the switch itself. You still need the EdgeRouter 4 / EdgeRouter 6P Rack Mount KIT (ER-RMKIT) for rack mounting. Ubiquiti ER-RMKIT: 19" (Mounting Kit)

The switch is in use on a shelf, extremely quiet. It does not get hot either. I think it's an excellent product! How warm it gets in the cupboard depends on how warm it already is there and whether the switch gets enough space.

Correct. 8*RJ-45 with PoE and 2 SFP = 10 ports total.
Should work. The correct routing interfaces must be set here and the default route entered accordingly. I would advise against such a config, because it has no firewall. But who needs that ;-)
