The state of slide film in 2025 is a disaster
31 CHF for the film + 20 CHF for the development of E6 film. These are the prices at the moment. I get there was a clear advantage of using the slide film in the past, but in my opinion due to the current pricing slide films dont make much sense anymore. For the majority of people there arent benefits compared to negative films and its over double the price.

Kodak's new slide film
Kodak had to reinvent the recipe for its slide film. A few of the chemicals needed to make it were no longer available. I find it remarkable that Kodak took this trouble at all. The result convinces me to a large extent. Measured against its sensitivity of ISO100/21°, it is quite fine-grained. The colour saturation is natural and the contrast rather low. That's why it's also suitable for shots with direct sunlight.
