I've been using these headphones for years to master and mix music on the go. The balanced and neutral sound have convinced me very much. There is nothing better in this price range. If you really want to enjoy high-end music, you should definitely listen to these headphones.
Unfortunately, the mp3 generation has not been interested in quality for a long time, which is why the young people prefer to walk around with bass-heavy "Beats by Dr. Dre".
For real music lovers, Koss can only be recommended. And yes, the Koss can also bass so really good! Simply dry and clean, as it must be!
Due to folding mechanism, it is also very handy. And if you take care and carry the headphones around in the supplied protective case, you'll have fun for years. Only after 3 years I had to replace the foam pads.

The sound in particular is terrific. The bass is unbelievably good, but even higher up there is still something coming out, in contrast to other much more expensive models like Bose, for example, the price has halved in the last 12 years. The cable gets stiffer over the years as the plasticiser dries out, but at most it's annoying to the touch. Important: don't drop it, with each drop it dies a little. This manifests itself in a loose contact on one side. According to my measurements, it must be somewhere in the coil. I've already got the fifth one, but since I've been paying attention to it, it hasn't happened again. Apparently the Lifetime Warranty only applies in the USA...
Update, another 10 years later: As an old bag after half a lifetime of Koss Porta Pro, I can now say that these are the most brilliant affordable on ear headphones. I often cycle with them. Even heavy rain can't harm them. I use them almost every day. What breaks are the pads. Most of the cheap replacement pads are too small, but if you overstretch them a lot, they will last another one or two years. Again: as described above, it is sensitive to impact. Since I stopped dropping it, it has lasted forever!

Very good much better than some expensive headphones (Beats and co) have although at home still a Sennheiser Momentum, this even better but is also a lot more expensive;-)

I've bought these headphones twice now, but both times they were defective within 1-2 years.
The sound is great, but the cable is the weak point.
The cable came loose from one of the earcups on the first pair of headphones and now from the plug on the second pair.
The headphones really only get two stars because of the sound, the build quality is subterranean.The wearing comfort is great, the sound quality too....
The wearing comfort is great, as is the sound quality. It doesn't get much better than this. Years ago I paid 100 francs for these headphones, now they are available here for 50 francs!
One star off for the ear pads, which inevitably disintegrate. Even one temple pad just kind of fell off. It's hardly worth replacing at the current price of the headphones.see comment
Highs and lows - all there. Has a very good sound.
