The new RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition features an Annapurna Alpine AL21400 CPU with four Cortex A15 cores, each clocked at 1.4 GHz, providing a maximum throughput of up to 7.5 Gbps. The device supports IPsec hardware acceleration and is faster than any previous RouterBOARD device (up to 2.2 Gbps with AES128).

The device comes with a 1U rackmount chassis, 13 Gigabit Ethernet ports, a serial RS232 port, and two redundant power supplies (with -48 V DC telecommunications power and 802.3at/af support). The RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition includes several high-speed storage interfaces (two SATA and two M.2 ports) for using a Dude database, a proxy cache, or other storage-intensive functions. It comes with a pre-installed 60 GB M.2 drive.
