The lithium thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2) battery features concentric electrodes with high load characteristics. It offers a high operating voltage, rated power, reliability, and a wide temperature range, as well as excellent resistance to humid environments and is non-flammable. Typical applications include backup systems, real-time clocks, measuring devices, alarm and security systems, emergency transmitters, and electronic toll systems. The battery is hermetically sealed and has a large operating temperature range of -60 °C to +85 °C. It provides a long shelf life. Note: Due to the high terminal voltage of 3.6 V, it is not suitable as a direct replacement for other battery technologies in the same cell sizes.
