Bright, rich blacks, super pure colours, excellent features, good sound and ease of use: the GQ55S90C almost manages to square the circle. Apart from the lack of Dolby Vision, there is nothing to criticise the Samsung for. For 2,500 euros, the 55-inch set easily catapults itself into the reference class.

With the S90C, Samsung continues the success story of last year's S95B. Although the TV's picture measurements and performance values are virtually identical to last year's model, the S90C offers some innovations. Among them are the option of a 77-inch screen diagonal, less aggressive auto-dimming behaviour and smoother operation...
