Product details

Unleash your digital SLR camera with this digital zoom lens. The 18-200mm Di II continues the tradition of the legendary Tamron Megazoom lenses, featuring an 11.1x zoom that corresponds to a focal length range of 28-300mm on analog 35mm cameras. It belongs to the new generation of Tamron Di II lenses, designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras with small image sensors. With its vast focal length range, the 18-200mm serves as a standard lens for virtually all photographic occasions. Especially when traveling, its ultra-compact and lightweight design ensures uninterrupted photographic enjoyment.

The new high-performance zoom lens AF18-200mm Di II features a completely new optical design, utilizing XR glass (Extra Refractive Index) in an innovative way to optimize the distribution of optical performance across the entire focal length range. This construction minimizes various aberrations to the absolute minimum while allowing for a significantly more compact design. Additionally, three aspherical hybrid elements and two LD (Low Dispersion) elements are used to compensate for chromatic aberration on-axis and at the edges of the image. This factor is particularly important for achieving high quality in digital photography. The result is a versatile zoom lens with outstanding optical quality. It also achieves a magnification ratio of 1:3.7, making it suitable for macro photography. The minimum focusing distance is 45 cm.

Please note that Di II generation lenses are only suitable for digital cameras with a sensor size of no more than 16x24 mm and cannot be used with full-frame sensors or 35mm SLR cameras, as this would result in vignetting at the edges.

In the end, the Tamron AF 3.5-6.3 / 28-300 mm XR Di VC LD IF Asph only achieves a sufficient result in the test. The model is poorly equipped, has a weak resolution and the lens quality could be better. The autofocus, on the other hand, makes a good impression.
