Product details
The SP 150-600mm G2 (generation 2) ultra telephoto zoom lens with improved optical properties provides images with impressive results. This new lens is the logical further development of the current SP
150-600mm (model A011), which Tamron introduced for the first time in December 2013. Including improved overall optical performance, faster autofocus speed, VC enhancements and fluorine coating, the newly developed Flex Zoom Lock, and the ability to use teleconverters.
Built from the ground up to strict quality standards and design specifications, the new 150-600m G2 combines intelligent technology and high performance with craftsmanship, durability and ease of use.
Enhanced optical performance and quality for even more enjoyment:
The SP 150-600mm G2 contains three LD (Low Dispersion) elements, which almost completely inhibit chromatic aberrations at a very high performance level. The optical construction of the lens consists of a total of 21 elements in 13 groups.
Two special coatings, eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular Dependency) and BBAR (Broad Band Anti-Reflection) ensure first-class anti-reflective properties. Ghost images and unwanted steering lights (e. g. for night shots) are completely eliminated even when taking pictures of a backlit subject.
Another improvement of the lens is the improvement of the close-up distance (MOD: Minimum Object Distance). The shortening to 2.2m opens up completely new possibilities in the field of tele-macro photography.
Sharp images of fast and distant subjects:
The 150-600mm G2 is equipped with a USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) engine that provides excellent responsiveness and control. The AF speed has been significantly improved and allows precise high-speed focusing for precise detection of fast moving objects.
