The Topping DX5 II is a fully symmetrical desktop DAC with an integrated headphone amplifier. It combines state-of-the-art converter technology with a newly developed amplifier architecture. It is equipped with two ESS-ES9039Q2M DAC chips, each working separately for the left and right channels. This allows the DX5 II to achieve an excellent dynamic range of up to 133 dB and extremely low distortion values of less than 0.00006% THD+N. It supports high-resolution formats up to PCM 768 kHz/32 Bit and native DSD512, ensuring lossless playback at reference level. The newly developed X-Hybrid headphone amplifier architecture combines the sonic advantages of NFCA technology with a three-stage hybrid topology. The result is an output power of up to 7600 mW per channel while maintaining minimal background noise. Even the most sensitive in-ear headphones remain free from unwanted noise, while power-hungry over-ear headphones are controlled with ease. Connectivity options include 6.35 mm, 4.4 mm Pentaconn, and a 4-pin XLR output. An integrated 10-band PEQ with a high-precision algorithm allows for nuanced sound tuning for headphones and speakers. This is complemented by a crossfeed function for a more realistic spatial representation. Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC, aptX Adaptive, and other codecs enables high-resolution wireless transmission. A color display with an Aurora user interface, trigger function, and preamplifier mode emphasizes its role as a versatile control center for demanding desktop setups. The high-quality USB implementation based on the XMOS XU316 ensures stable and jitter-free data transmission at the highest level. A precise volume control with a memory function provides reproducible listening conditions.
