Product details
The TL-SG1008MP is a Gigabit desktop/rack switch with 8 ports, all of which support the PoE+ standard. It provides an easy way to expand a wired network by transmitting power and data over a single Ethernet cable. With a total power budget of 153 W and up to 30 W per port, the TL-SG1008MP can power more demanding devices such as wireless access points (APs), IP cameras, or IP phones. Additionally, the TL-SG1008MP features innovative energy-efficient technology that reduces power consumption, making it an environmentally friendly solution for your business network.
All 8 ports of the TL-SG1008MP support the PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) standard, which allows for the automatic detection and powering of all IEEE 802.3af/at compatible devices. In this scenario, electrical power is transmitted along with data over a single cable, enabling you to expand your network where there are no electrical cables or outlets available, and to power devices such as APs, IP cameras, or IP phones.
The TL-SG1008MP includes a priority function that protects the system during overload situations. If the total power consumption of all PoE+ devices is equal to or exceeds 153 W, a priority is assigned among the 8 PoE+ ports. At this point, the system will cut power to the port with the lowest priority.
The priority function is arranged as follows: Port 1 > Port 2 > Port 3 > Port 4 > Port 5 > Port 6 > Port 7 > Port 8. This function safeguards the system when power supply is overloaded. For example, if Ports 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 are using 30 W each (the maximum power per port is 30 W, with a total system power of 153 W) and an additional device using 25 W is plugged into Port 3, the system will cut power to the port with the lowest priority.
