EP-S16 - Intelligent WISP Control Point with FiberProtect

Weatherproof housing for outdoor use. Powerful routing or switching functions. Fiber backhaul capabilities. The new EdgePoint is part of the EdgeMAX platform. As the first application-specific WISP Control Point, the EdgePoint combines routing functions with fiber backhaul capabilities and versatile power supply options. The EdgePoint is available in three models:

• EP-R6: Layer-3 Router
• EP-R8: Layer-3 Router
• EP-S16: Layer-2 Switch with some Layer-3 capabilities.

Groundbreaking deployment options. The EdgePoint offers FiberProtect to significantly reduce failures due to electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electromagnetic interference (EMI), greatly improve signal integrity, and condense data backhaul into a single fiber cable.

All-in-One Design. A single, compact controller efficiently eliminates clutter, expensive racks, third-party installations, and excessive maintenance.

Robust construction. The sturdy housing easily withstands environmental influences such as wind, rain, or snow. The included cable grommet protects the cables and cable entry. If needed, you can also replace it with your own line.

Advanced applications. For the EP-R6 and EP-R8, powerful routing functions—such as load balancing and failover—provide enhanced performance for outdoor wireless connections. For the EP-S16, Layer-2 link aggregation offers similar redundancy and increased performance benefits.

Versatile power options. The EP-R8 and EP-S16 models, which are powered by either 54 V DC or PoE, support 54 or 24 V passive PoE to power all products, including airFiber and airMAX. The EP-R6, on the other hand, powered by 24 V DC or PoE, supports 24 V passive PoE.
