1. RME Audio Advanced Remote Control USB

The ARC USB connects to the computer via USB and communicates directly with TotalMix FX. It features 15 freely assignable, illuminated buttons, an encoder knob, and a jack socket for connecting a footswitch. The ARC USB is a USB 1.1 MIDI remote control for the Fireface UFX+ and all other RME devices. Since it operates as a UAC 1 class device, it is natively compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. Once registered in the operating system, the ARC USB is automatically recognized by TotalMix FX, and communication for controlling the UFX+ occurs through simple MIDI commands.

The Fireface 802 FS AE is technically identical to the Fireface 802 FS and offers the same powerful features and functions, including 60 audio channels, high-end microphone preamps, reference-class converters, a complete electronics section, and operation at up to 192 kHz. Active jitter suppression with SteadyClock FS, DC-coupled outputs for all eight analog line outputs, individually switchable reference levels for all inputs and outputs, full stand-alone functionality, the metering and analysis toolbox DigiCheck, as well as identical operation on Windows PC and Mac complete the package. The OctaMic II integrates an 8-channel 192 kHz / 24-bit converter with eight high-quality microphone channels, equipped with top-notch components and proven RME technology. The OctaMic II offers 8 balanced mic/line inputs via XLR connectors. Each channel has individually switchable phantom power (48V), a low-cut filter, and phase inversion. The gain is adjustable from 6 to 60 dB. Once the special clip-hold mode is activated and clipping is detected, the respective clip LED begins to blink once per second. This peak monitoring mode saves the user from constantly watching the clip LEDs, while still accurately displaying all acute clipping.

On the front panel, there are switches for power and the selection of the reference level, which can be set to -10 dBV, +4 dBu, or Hi Gain (+19 dBu). This unusual feature has two advantages: first, the reference level can be easily adapted to all current RME devices, from the HDSP 9632 to the Multiface and the high-quality converters of the ADI-8 series. Furthermore, the signal-to-noise ratio is optimized, and the clip LED operates exactly like that of the ADI-8 (2 dB below 0 dBFS).

On the rear panel, the microphone signals are available at 8 stereo jack sockets with balanced line level. The specially designed internal high-performance power supply for the OctaMic II operates in the range of 100 V to 240 V AC. It is short-circuit proof, features an integrated power filter, completely regulates voltage fluctuations, and suppresses power disturbances.
