Pro-Ject's previous turntable was already heavier than all the others, but a metal turntable also has a disadvantage: resonances. The TPE technology (thermoplastic elastomer) now helps to dampen these resonances completely and also increases the weight to 1.7 kilograms. Since the TPE is mounted on an outer ring, the kinetic energy also creates a flywheel effect. The result is even quieter operation with less synchronisation fluctuation. The speed control has been placed on the bottom of the turntable to maintain the clean look for which the Debut is so well known. You won't find a switch, LED or print on the top of the turntable to maintain the luxurious aesthetic.
