Hello,
I have a similar question. I have a 15" macbook pro mid2010. Can I put ddr2 at 1333 when my computer is taking 1066?

Ah voilà, here is the correct answer. I recommend this RAM for a MacBook Pro 15" (Mid 2009): Corsair Mac Memory CMSA8GX3M2A1066C7 (2x, 4GB, DDR3-RAM, unbuffered)

You can basically use any RAM, 2GB or 4GB modules (up to max 8GB total), with specification SODIMM 204, DDR3-1066, UNBUFFERED, 1.50V, CAS Latency 7.

I saw the other question regarding RAM for the MacBook Pro from you. I agree with the answer given and I am also not quite sure where you got the indication for DDR3-1600 RAM.

Could you please provide the exact model number? You can find the model number using the information on the following page via serial number or specifications: https://support.apple.com/de-ch...

There seem to be only 3 model numbers for a MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2009, all of which do not support DDR3-1600, only DDR3-1066.

MacBook Pro (15", Mid 2009) MB985xx/A or MB986xx/A
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2.53 GHz, Mid 2009) MC118xx/A
