I have 6 x Seagate 2.5" HD 5 TB installed and it works perfectly. No experience with SSDs yet.

6x8TB SSD? that will be very expensive...
But technically I see no reason why it shouldn't work.
However, Synology can answer that better:

I have a tiny NAS I built on a mini itx board two years ago. I have three 8TB Samsung drives in there. I barely notice it, it’s pretty quiet.
