Does the router really achieve the 574 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz WLAN? I have an ASUS RT-AC68U router in use that is supposed to bring 600 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz WLAN but does a maximum of 50 Mbit/s and a maximum of 220 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz WLAN where it is supposed to do 1300 Mbit/s?

Hi

I have written 50 megabytes per second. That's not bad for WLAN in a block of flats. 😉

In your considerations, have you taken into account that some of the stated speeds are only achieved through channel bundling?

Hello

The speed specifications of the manufacturers are always theoretical values that cannot be achieved during use. On the one hand, one must take into account that the manufacturers also add the overhead to the user data - this already results in a first difference to "reality". Furthermore, high data rates are only achieved under favourable conditions.

Your own PC must have a fast WLAN card,

the distance to the router should be short (even a few metres can cause the data rate to drop noticeably) and there must be no sources of interference in the vicinity (Bluetooth, USB 3.0 devices, microwaves, refrigerators, mixers....).

My AX-55 transmits at a distance of 5 m to my current ThinkPad with over 50 MByte/s. So more than 400 MBit/s.

It would be more if fewer devices were connected (I have about 15 devices on 5GHz) and if the router wasn't on top of the fridge through furniture. ;)
