Can I connect to the ChromeCast directly, i.e. without an existing WLAN? Or does the device only work if there is already a WLAN in which the device is connected?

You need a WLAN - the idea is that your mobile phone only serves as an initiator, after which the Chromecast sucks the content out of the WLAN itself. Therefore, you can also switch off your mobile phone afterwards and the Chromecast stream will continue to run...

Does this work if I connect 2 Chromecasts to 2 different TVs? So that both TVs show exactly the same thing. With Chromecast Audio, the devices can be paired, does that also work with video?
