Can I use an adapter to replace the Nokia modem (GPON) from German GigaNetz and connect my Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Gateway Fibre directly - one less unnecessary device, so to speak?

You can only replace the Nokia device if the supplier explicitly activates its own ONT, and this is currently not the case with German GigaNetz.
