Can this adapter also be used as an access point ([W]LAN)? Field of use would be as a USB port on a PC running OPNsense. (New network interface) It would also be interesting to know what chipset this adapter has, otherwise I will have to go to https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/tp-link-tl-wr902ac-router-6169915?supplier=406802.

No, it cannot be used for that. Hosted Network is not available when you check. Just for everyone else who doesn't want to make the same bad purchase....
