Can this printer do object characters recognition (OCR)?

The bundles software does that on your PC, not on the printer itself. The printer with it's ADF scans well, and once documents scanned there are good cloud OCR solutions. Google consumed an open source OCR project some years ago called Tesseract, its the backbone of their cloud OCR.
