Can this unit be used as a stand-alone or do you need a base or something would just like to have a landline phone not 2....
The S850 HX is only a handset. The corresponding product with the same handset and base station is called Gigaset S850 (art. no. 3522673) and is intended for an analogue telephone connection. (Almost all Internet routers have an analogue telephone connection).
