Yes, it makes calls based on 4G.

Disadvantageous, especially if you only use prepaid, i.e. you don't have a flat rate: The device has no WLAN!
Updates must therefore be carried out via data packages or daily data flat rates.
If you only want to make phone calls, you must switch off the use of data packages with the provider or switch them on selectively. Otherwise, you may be charged additional data usage fees for telephone calls.

According to Digitec, the mobile phone " ... has a pre-installed web browser and supports the 4G mobile network, so you don't have to miss out on fast internet anywhere. " Since I bought this device for my son as a gift/phone replacement, I cannot draw from my own experience. But I do believe, prima face, that Digitec is putting correct information on the net.
