Yes, the monitor can be removed from the holder (stand). To do this, you usually have to operate a cover or a small lever on the back of the monitor to gain access to the screws that secure the stand. You can then loosen these screws with a screwdriver and remove the stand. This is also necessary if you want to mount the monitor on a VESA mount. Care must be taken not to damage the monitor.
