Helpful answer

Frankly, I didn't even know there were 2 different diameters.
I ordered the one shown on the site and it fitted perfectly into my cigarette lighter.

On the vehicle side, it is the matching one. I have a second one with a matching diameter in the boot - but the connection there is also miserable
