In your own network, access is via the IP address. I recommend the installation of the Synology Assistant programme, with which you can reliably find the Synology Disk Station in your own LAN. Synology offers appropriate options for an Internet connection for remote access.

However, I recommend investing a little more money and choosing the DS218 model. It is much faster and with 2 GB RAM it also has much more than a DS220j with only 512MB, the surcharge is well worth it on the DS218. Disk swapping is also better with the DS218 because you don't need to open up the NAS to swap disks.
