Do the PGI-2500XL cartridges fit the Canon MAXIFY MB205? When asked elsewhere, I was told: "According to the manufacturer, only the PGI-1500 and PGI-1500XL cartridges fit the Canon MAXIFY MB2050. There is no mention of the PGI-2500". Via Google search I found the link to Galaxus again, where the PGI-2500 multipack is still shown as suitable. So now I am unsure.

Hello
You probably misspelled the printer name in the first line of your question. As far as I know, there is no Maxify MB205. You continue to write about the MB2050, which does exist.
I had both printers, the MB2050 and the MB5050. So I assume that the cartridges that fit your printer are the 1500s and not the 2500s. In my opinion, the 2500 cartridges are too big for the cartridge slot of the MB2050. I have a complete set of cartridges for my MB5155. This is the 2500 series. On the square multipack plastic packaging of the PGI-2500XL there is nothing about them also being usable for the MB2xxx printer series. The 2500 cartridges only fit the MB5xxx series and some of the iB4xxx series. So I would answer your first question with a definite NO, they do NOT fit! You need the 1500 cartridges.
