Do you need the controller to control the NZXT fans or can you just connect them to the mainboard? LG

If you have NZXT RGB fans then the controller is useful because you can control the fan colours with it. But if you don't have RGB fans, you don't need one. Because you can control the fan curves via the software of the mainboard.
