AVM FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber
Does anyone understand why FritzBox only manages 1 Gbit/s on the LAN ports, even with the very modern routers? I don't need a "fibre" box if only 1 Gbit is possible anyway. I would hate to switch to Asus because I have 2 repeaters from the Fritz range.
Well, you can configure the WAN port as a LAN and then have 2.5 GBit. In addition, all alternatives consume an extremely large amount of power. I don't want to defend AVM now, 10 would be nice and they will surely come soon. But at the moment I think the FB is a good compromise.
I don't use the LAN ports, but in the user interface you can reconfigure the 2.5 Gbit WAN port to a LAN port and then (as I understand it) you would have at least one that is faster than 1 Gbit. However, I don't know why AVM doesn't install this as standard on the higher-priced models.
German company, if you already get more than 500 Mbit Internet in Germany, it's a gift from God.
